The first Bitcoin-native NFT marketplace: digital art and music minted, owned and settled directly on Bitcoin through RGB smart contracts. My job was to make a brand-new asset class feel obvious.
A new way to own digital art, directly on Bitcoin, needed an interface mainstream people could actually trust.
DIBA is the first Bitcoin-native NFT marketplace, built on RGB smart contracts and launched on mainnet at the Bitcoin 2023 conference. It lets people mint and own unique digital assets (art and music) settled directly on Bitcoin rather than a separate chain. The venture is backed by notable Bitcoin investors, including Tim Draper and Bill Tai.
I was the designer on DIBA at DIBA Global, owning the design process and the visual design. DIBA is a separate product from the Bitmask wallet: one company, two products, each with its own job and its own interface.
The marketplace had one genuinely hard job:
Put together: take something novel and high-stakes, and make it legible enough that a mainstream person would actually try it, and come back.
Let people feel the value of a new asset class without first learning the jargon underneath it.
Product, site and campaign had to read as one thing: a design-system problem before a screen problem.
DIBA launched on Bitcoin mainnet, debuting at Bitcoin 2023 as the first RGB-powered NFT marketplace. The venture is backed by investors including Tim Draper and Bill Tai. Live product, real users, real money.
The marketplace is live at diba.io. Its sibling product, the Bitmask self-custodial wallet, has its own case study.
